Liquid Penetrant Inspection

Liquid penetration is a non-destructive test method in which a liquid penetrant is applied to the surface of the material under inspection, the liquid seeps in to any surface flaws by capillary action. This method of inspection reveals all types of surface defects for example:

• Location
• Cracks
• Laps
• Porosity
• Laminations
• Shrinkage

Liquid penetration is an excellent method for detection of minute surface discontinuities that can affect either the functionality or final appearance of raw material or manufactured component.

This well established non-destructive test method is used by Format QA Consultants as part of the full range of services provided to a wide range of customers.
